British Invasion

The Summer Olympics sparked an over-the-top creative fascination with all things British. First up is Jacqui’s Amy Butler Sophia Carry All. (and since I know you’re going to ask – flag fabric is from Jacqui’s stash purchased at Walmart years ago – darn!)

Lined with the London Underground Map fabric from Timeless Treasures (no longer in stock – wish I had yards of this hidden in my stash!).

A fun red zipper tops it off.

Purse feet ready for heavy use!

Becky’s Mary Mulari Church Ladies Apron for her sister’s birthday (shhh… it’s a surprise).

Great shapes on this design.

It’s reversible too!

Becky’s clever covered button detail on her new bag.

Inspiration from the shop:

Aneela Hoey London – downloadable embroidery pattern.

Town & Country by Dear Stella.

London luxury – Liberty of London Tana Lawn Bundle.

Happy Weekend Olympics Watching! xo Kathy

oh man, i love that union jack fabric so so so much. i think we’ve all found some gold at walmart and the like at one point or another… problem is that i usually don’t discover that it’s gold until weeks or months or years later and i didn’t get enough!

Love love it. There is Union Jack fabric still available. I purchased some recently, Cool Britannia from Benartex. You can google it or maybe find it on Love the bag.
