Where I Sew – Laurie Wisbrun

Laurie Wisbrun is a surface and textile designer who specializes in stylishly smart & seriously playful designs. In addition to devoting her time to her designs, Laurie also authored two books on textile design, Mastering the Art of Fabric Printing and Design, published in 2012 by Chronicle Books and, Embellish Me to be published by Interweave in 2013. She has designed a number of international fabric collections for Robert Kaufman Fabrics and has licensed her designs to several home decor and stationery manufacturers. She also authors her blog Scarlet Fig and sells limited run fabrics via her online Etsy shop. Prior to hopping off the corporate hamster wheel to create colorful designs of modern whimsy, Laurie had an extensive career in advertising and marketing in both Manhattan and Austin, Texas. Laurie currently lives in Austin, Texas.

    Oh, gosh, I recognize that rocket from her blog! So cute. I think the idea of the rolling shelving unit is a good one, and I love that Laurie puts inspiring things on the top shelf. If it were at my house, I’m afraid it would be spilling over with fabric. Her way probably causes more creative quilting to take place than just looking at piles of FQ’s would.

    Like everyone else, I am enamored with the pegboard…and plan to start begging my hubby to put one up for me today! Also love the organization…but don’t see myself achieving that, *sigh*.
