Dumplings Zip Pouch by Keyka Lou

Carrie discovered this free tutorial by Keyka Lou for the Dumplings zip pouch. She made it up in Sandi Henderson’s Secret Garden. An amazingly cute combination!

Carrie recommends definitely sticking to the instructions and hand basting the zipper to the sides.

She made her own bias tape from the lining material to finish the inside seam. It’s a lovely pattern because there are no exposed seams on the inside.

Dumplings is a quick and easy project perfect for gift giving. You can see other Keyka Lou downloadable patterns for sale in the shop.

I found the tutorial a few weeks ago but haven’t had the time to try it yet. Looks like a lot of people have found success with it! I’m hoping to make some with laminated cotton for my sister for Christmas, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to get the fabric to cooperate…

The new fabrics by Lotta Jansdotter (Echo Florine) are so bold and beautiful I just want to have hugh cuts and frame them. Wish I had more wall space.

Cute little bag that makes sense. I just looked at a square flat bag that was nothing more than a potholder with a zipper!
