Shop Talk – Stitch is Here

I composed a post each day this week, unfortunately they never had a chance since the words didn’t make it to the keyboard. It’s been one of those weeks. I’ve:

  • ironed dirty jeans for my kids at least twice this week
  • thrown track clothes into the laundry at midnight
  • had an x-ray on my right foot (bone spurs, jeez)
  • colored my hair
  • watched with proud enthusiasm Leil’s classroom play
  • made pigs in a blanket for said actors
  • attended Caitlin’s track meet
  • filled more orders than I can count because of the sale
  • wondered why I had a sale during a week like this!
  • paid for overnight shipping for a birthday present on Amazon
  • put together goodie bags for the five 14 year olds coming over to my to-be-cleaned-tomorrow house

I haven’t even had time to totally freak out that my oldest daughter is turning 14. 14! Eek, when did that happen. She registered for high school classes last week. High school! I swear I was debating over a play vs. academic pre-school just yesterday (chose the play route, you’re welcome Caitlin).

I’m off to bed early with my hot-off-the-presses copy of Stitch (now in the shop). And as if we don’t all know her work by sight, that’s Malka’s pillow on the front. You go girl!

Yup, couldn’t miss Malka’s fab and fun work, but did you perhaps miss a certain shout-out on page 9? Looks like your Mail Bag is a winner too!

Oh, and 14 didn’t sound to bad until you said she’s signed up for high school classes. I’ll go ahead and freak out for you! ;-)

You need to quit ironing jeans, girl! That would save you some time.

    Thanks so much Kathy!
It’s very exciting to have a 14 year old. My eldest is 17 and my middle girl is about to turn 15. I really feel like they start to come into their own as interesting people at this age. Enjoy your girl!

Kathy – I hope you have a chance to slow down/catch up a bit this weekend! 14 seems really far away, but my almost 9 yo will be there before I know it! Enjoy :)

    14. Wow. My niece will be 15 this summer. She has the teen-age eye-rolls to prove her age ;) I feel like she was just born. Much less my sweet 5 year old… how DO they grow up so fast?!

My son will be 40 this year. Yikes! I cannot even believe I am forty, much less him. And I don’t know where the time went either.
I had a cortisone shot into my heel for a bone spur several years ago and it worked really well. Hurts at the time, but the eventual relief is heavenly!

After a week like that, isn’t it great to camp out on the couch (or in bed) with a good sewing magazine? I love Stitch! Thanks for offering it in your shop, because now I know where I’ll always be able to find one!

I am laughing at the ironing the dirty jeans….Genius!!

My oldest will be graduating, my second oldest will be a Sophomore this year. I cannot remember where the time went.

I finally got the french embroidery knot!! I am working on some things for my shop that include the french knot, applique and love of my Japanese Cherry Tree. I will post pictures on my blog in the next few days. I am so excited! Can ya tell? :o )
