Wow! on the Craft Inc. contest. I was thinking I’d get about half questions and half tips. It went more like 99% questions, 1% tips (really good ones from some very talented entrepreneurs, thank you). Time to start writing a weekly bit about the business of crafting. It won’t be from an expert but I’m excited to share my experiences and my thinking behind decisions I make. I think it will make for some good conversation.
And the winner of the $99.99 used book (it dropped in price over the last week ) is: #65, Katrin. This book is now headed on a little international journey. I love the blog world.
So, back to shop talk. Hillary from Wee Wonderfuls mentioned this cute little fabric in a blog post last week:
It sold out 5 seconds later. There’s more in the shop now.
And speaking of Hillary, I bought her latest note cards, Quilting Bee and Knitting Club. Goodness they’re cute! I’ve been inspired by customers who order from me and send the package as a gift to someone else. What a fantastic idea. Packages have gone to blog buddies, moms, sisters, and friends. I plan to use these cards to write the gift message on.
And now a little free fabric offer:
I set up a Pink Chalk Fabrics Flickr group this week. I brainstormed ideas of how to get photo contributions kick started and came up with this: be one of the first 20 customers to post a picture of something you’ve made using fabric or patterns from the shop and win 2 free fat quarters from the Heather Bailey Pop Garden + Bijoux lines.
And last, but not least, this week’s FabShop Hop Special: 20% off all Quilt Patterns. Sale runs Saturday, September 13 through Friday, September 19. Today (Friday, September 12) is the last day to get 15% off all Michael Miller Fabrics.
The weather on Bainbridge Island is as good as it gets. Hope it’s fantastic where ever you are. Have a fabulous weekend!
